PCYC for Dee Why (Police Citizen Youth Club)

Work has begun on the Police Citizens Youth Club last week on the Cnr of Fisher Road and Westminster Avenue Dee Why.

The design of the community facility, by FJMT, is open and welcoming; providing an inviting and accessible building of quality and durability, specific to site and purpose. Features of the concept design include a curved roof and green walls to screen the carpark from the street.

The building will include:

• Two multi-use indoor sports courts
• A youth drop in centre and study area
• Three multi-purpose community rooms
• PCYC youth counselling space
• Café
• Parking for 348 cars

 NSW Premier, Barry O'Farrell, announced that Warringah Council will receive State Government funding to go towards building the northern beaches' first Police Youth Citizen's Club in 2012.

Funding is coming from a range of sources including the State Government grant, proceeds from the compulsory aquisition of the Northern Beaches Hospital site, sale of Council land at Dee Why and Section 94 contributions allocated for parking infrastructure at Dee Why.
